In bill polians masterpiece of a scheme to obtain the best player to come out of college in decades, the key component was keeping Peyton manning off the field and under the care of doctors with a career threatening neck condition ...
all along Peyton was the story... What will the colts do with hall of fame QB? He collected 27 million to sit and watch and there may have been a little note from bill attached to that check... If we lose you look better, and btw play up the neck injury so people think its serious .
Fast forward ... Colts 5-3, Peyton having his BEST YEAR EVER (or close to it).
so... Just wondering ... How's the neck today, Peyton ? 27 Mil and a year off must make it feel a lot better huh...?
What is the point... if BB had done the same thing people here would be talking about what a brilliant piece of general managing it was...
If the did "Suck for Luck" it is still a calculated gamble. He could have (and still could) end up being Tim Couch, JaMarcus Russell or David Carr.
ps. The Colts defense is still just as bad as it was last year - they may make the playoffs BUT they are a long, long way from being the team they were during Manning's prime years on both offense and defense.
2 problems with your post ... #1 putting Belichicks name in the same area code with this putrid display of football and respect for the game is highly offensive to a patriot fan. Better rethink that one bud.
#2 Saying luck was a gamble is just dumb . polian gushed all over his known abilities because he has studied football players for over 25 years. He knew exactly what he was going after ... Which is why he orchestrated this entire tanking charade...
