Big 92    (92?)   just planted Rivers firmly on his backside.

And miraculously, there was no flag.

Seymour can have 45 sacks this year and I'm still happy about the deal

It wasn't Seymour on the strip, b/c it was 3rd down and Raiders were in a DB/nickel or sub package. But I saw more out of Seymour than anyone but banta-cain on the front seven of the pats today.  If we lose TBC or Mayo for the season, we don't have a chance on D.

Brace, Pryor, Guyton the other new guys were were they?

That made things difficult for the secondary, which to their credit did not get blown up for a TD and made hard hits. Unfortunately, they were a step late on a lot of plays but that comes with practice/experience.

Great leadership by Merriweather. He was all over the field and great on special teams. I'm still confident the vets will lift this team in coming weeks.

Even after official review, I think the ref got that TD call wrong.  Both feet down and it looked like possession.

The Raiders and Seymour look pretty good, not saying they will win but if they cover the 9.5 spread i'm good.

The Pats game plan called for taking away the deep ball and limiting Owens/Evans. That left the D susceptible in the running game and to screens and crossing patterns. That is where the Bills hurt us. But Owens/Evans were non-factors. One Bills' score came on D (on a great individual athletic play by Schobel). Especially in the first half, if the offense scores instead of coming away without points after long drives, this game is a 14-21 point Pats win.
It was a first game - adjusting to a lot of new players and schemes on D, Mayo goes down early (pray that's short-lived!). On offense, Brady and gang are back on the 'real field' for the first ime in a year. Let's see how things go next week, then re-evaluate.
