That was RKrap's statement, moron, not Spanky's.

Not seeing a connection between violent felonies, means you're a moron deluxe, Babe.  You're one of those. lmao
I agree with babe here. Murdering someone execution style and punching someone are in completely different leagues. You don't go to death throw by knocking someone out. The law says that each carry a different penalty, so how can you Rusty, conflate the two to fit your agenda?

You started this thread like every other...trying to prove a point and warping facts to prop up your point. Yes, what Rice did is wrong, but he is not Hern.
Rusty's insanity and lies get more severe by the day. I never called for BB to resign for taking AH. I don't even fault him for drafting the guy. It was super dumb to lock him up with a big contract though. But, that's just one of a very very long list of blunders by the GM.

I think we already know the Ravens are no model of integrity, but comparing this incident to AH is just the rantings of a loony toon.

Hern's team mates went to Pats management to voice their concerns/complaints. Hern was involved in multiple felony situations prior to the murder. Hern was passed over by many, many teams in the draft, and many took him off their board. Never heard any such word about Ray."

Bbbbbut Hernandez said all the right things and was nice to Myra Kraft.

Rusty is right that the Ravens are a classless organization.

That said whenever Pats fans call other team's players thugs it gets awkward, given the current king of the thugs played for us.
What thugs?  Hernandez is one person.  And, NE cut him immediately once learning of the beahvior.

Could it be the Ravens are in such a cap hell that if they selfishly hang onto this thug at RB, they can at least have his services, as opposed to doing the right thing?

Wait until it becomes clear the DA has to press charges even if the fiancee tries to bury it.   If it's on video, charges can be filed by the state.
First off, tromboney, it was a simple assault and BOTH were arrested.  They also went home together after the incident.

If they press charges, it will be on both.

Secondly. the Ravens aren't condoning anything,  According to reports they are taking a wait and see attitude until charges are made and more comes out, just as the Pats did with Dennard  !!!

Who said they saw the Video, you????  Bwahaha! This is not confirmed in any report, so stop speculating and presenting it as fact, you phoney p o s.

Thirdly, if he has done this, he will suffer the consequence, as he should.

And lastly, I couldn't care less what some other team does to their reputation or team.

I care about the Patriots and I do think giving a contract to a known thug (accused of shooting people before the incident), with drug and gang affiliation was reckless at best.

Their actions have hurt the team and that's what matters to me.  And it's not like they had a choice to release him on the spot after he was arrested.  It's not like he was going to be let out on bond the following day.  The charges weren't simple assault.

    They were MURDER!

Stick to tromboning you fool and I STRONGLY suggest you start leaving other posters names out of your 4500 +, garbage posts a month.  Who the F does that? Psycho.

Hitting a woman is a crime that should be taken very seriously -- it's right up there in the pantheon of despicable crimes.  I have none of the facts and I'm not one to rush to judgment, but if Rice is guilty of what is being said then he should be thrown on the street like garbage.

    Yup.

When Dennard was convicted a certain someone on the board immediately knew that all Nebraska cops are corrupt and Dennard was just a choir boy that was targeted.

But when a player from another team gets into a questionable situation the cops are all saints.

    Double standard much?

Not true. Pezzy just called it "simple" assault when a man strikes a woman.

He also claimed a video of such an act is the same as a he said/she said situation between undercover cops incorrectly accosting an innocent bystander outside a bar at 2 AM.

New England didn't cut him when they learned of his "behavior", they cut him when they learned he murdered someone...big difference. They drafted and paid him knowing about his "behavior", his drug use, his ties to gangs, his way of interacting with team mates...they cut him when he killed someone (and most likely more than one).

My opinion on Rice is this, he should be cut, but he won't be because for some reason no one cuts good players unless they murder someone...sad, but true. As for Newsome - if he knew that this guy was a woman hitting thug - and yet still signed Rice to an extension, I'd fire him too. One big problem is that Newsome probably wouldn't know all that much about Rice as a person beyond what he knew of him coming out of the draft...the coach would, but Newsome is not the coach.

Our GM is the coach, so if Belichick coached Rice, he'd see first hand how this guy acted in the locker room, with team mates, on road trips, to people that served the team food, to the medical staff...how other players felt about him, how positional coaches felt about him. He'd be right in the thick of things to a point - not to the point of knowing Rice would punch his girlfriend - but he at least wouldn't be surprised.

By the way, "salary cap hell" has nothing to do with Ray Rice, so why you bring that up is a mystery to many. We all know salary cap hell doesn't exist..it's a joke not only on here, but on all the local sports stations - in fact the owners proved three days ago that it doesn't exists when they just magically added another 4 million to everyone's salary cap space. I'd say "salary cap hell" is dead, but it never was alive in the first place.

We have not seen the video. Stop acting like you have. Also, she refused to press charges which is why they had to file it as "simple assualt".

An uppercut to a woman's head, is not "simple assault", moron.

Are you this stupid to not know how the law works?   I don't care  if they "went home together", stupid, the video shows they shouldn't have if the police are stating Rice hit her with an uppercut to the head.

    Like I said GET A F'N CLUE!

This is no different than Dennard assaulting an officer and HE WAS FOUND GUILTY and ALSO found GUILTY of violating parole.

He is also spending 30 days in jail this spring.

There have been no charges yet and if there were, it would be on BOTH.

Stop trying to start s hit, hypocrite!

Police investigating Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice for allegedly knocking his fiancée unconscious at an Atlantic City casino have video evidence of the blow, according to a person with knowledge of the investigation.

Another video, released by TMZ this week, shows Rice, 27, dragging his unconscious partner from an elevator within the Revel Casino in Atlantic City last weekend. Rice's identity was authenticated by his attorney, who says the video was incomplete.

--Police said Rice and fiancee Janay Palmer hit each other, and both were charged with simple assault- domestic violence upon being arrested Saturday. The Ravens told USA TODAY Sports the pair "returned home together after being detained."

He would be a first-time violator with respect to the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy, which in the last decade has carried increasingly harsher punishments for public malfeasance under commissioner Roger Goodell, though not typically for players with previously clean sheets.

Pretty sick, isn't it? I mean Dennard is going to jail for god's sake. This guy is so dumb that he actually went back to the place they were trying to get him and drive while drinking...that's dumb...just being there is beyond stupid. Now he's going to jail for it.

If Rice caulked his hand back and punched this woman in the face, he should be cut...he should be punished. You can't do that...it's unacceptable disgusting behavior that no one should do. Even if it was a situation where they both were drunk....the girl was known for being crazy...and they got into a slapping match that she started...you still can't do that. The guy is a nfl running back with lots to loose, he could of ran a 4.5 forty yards away from her.

It bothers me that stuff like this will just be swept under the rug that is the nfl, but lets not kid ourselves, the Patriots are NOT a team that can criticize anyone...not after the last couple of years. The following players have walked through our doors over the last few years...Ocho Cinco (beat the crap out of his wife), Randy Moss (known dirtbag), Hernandez, Dennard, Haynesworth, Deaderick (scum bag), Spikes (guy has his own porn video and stomped on a guy's head), Merriweather (how many gun charges and spitting incidents does this guy have on his résumé?), Talib (guy shot at someone, punches team mates in the face), Blount (sucker punched more than one guy when he wasn't expecting it on the football field), Bolden (drugs), Chung (the guy just plain sucks).

    2. Ray Rice's dead money charge in 2015 if cut, is 9.5 million.  That's ONE player to cost 10 million in dead money next year, which could be a season where the Ravens are in back to back seasons of missing the playoffs outright, leading to a 3rd straight of missing the playoffs which would lead one to believe your little wonder boy GM, who is like a bling squirrel finding a nut, would be in jeopardy of being canned.

Remember our little bet, there, Cupcake, huh?  Yeah. Kinda funny how you made the bet with me and now you're starting to see how poorly constructed teams WITH just one player completely overpaid can sting badly.

The problem is, Rice would count $9.5 million in dead money in 2015, which is a large chunk for a player not on the roster. Anyway you look at it, the Ravens lose a significant amount of cap space if they decide to cut him."

Dumb. You're just a very very dumb human being.

First - I think Rice is a scum bag, so don't go saying I don't get the seriousness of this, or discount his actions in anyway.

Second - the sad fact is that Rice will NOT be cut, this will NOT affect the Ravens financially one bit. As I said before, the only way GOOD players get cut is if they murder someone (see Hernandez)

Third - why are you bringing up our bet? I made it very very clear that if of you started tying me to the Ravens, the bet would be off. You weren't supposed to mention anything about this bet along the way until the season was over and they were in (or out of the playoffs). There was to be no...I told you so's until someone won the bet...we are three days into the bet and you keep mentioning me in posts regarding the Ravens. Are you stupid? Can you read? Do you comprehend all this? We are three days into it and you already (like a moron) are not holding up to the parameters of the bet. This is why no one wagers with you around here, you are too much of a child to handle even a simple bet. Grow up.

Do you still want to do this bet? I do. So why are you trying to sabotage the thing this early into it? You afraid?

    Spot on.

If he took a swing at her he should be gone.  But as you point out, we'd be naive to think that the talent level of the player wouldn't enter into the decision-making process.

If it were say Jake Bequette he'd be gone in a heartbeat.

In some ways I feel sorry for owners and the people in the org, as they are put in impossible situations. but what they should always say is that they have to wait for the authorities to go thru the legal process,
