Report: NFL pressure leads to ESPN backing out of documentary project

Here's a paragraph and a link to read the whole article:

    http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nfl--report--nfl-pressure-leads-to-espn-backing-out-of-project--nfl-denies-143653640.html

For more than a year, ESPN and PBS had worked together on a "Frontline" documentary project entitled "League of Denial." Scheduled to air in October, the documentary investigates whether the NFL covered up evidence of long-term head injuries caused by football.

On Thursday, however, PBS announced that ESPN was withdrawing from the project. Hours later, the New York Times reported that the NFL had pressured ESPN, which pays the NFL in excess of $1 billion annually for broadcast rights, to cease its involvement in the project.

They also had that mini series about the real football world and the NFL made them squash that. It showed guys getting around drug tests, knocking one niters up, chicks getting intentionally pregnant for money.  * the big crow should have watched that episode*.  It made NFL players look pretty sleazy IMO.   It's all about the product.

Now you got the easy part done telling me about it.

Does that handshaped bruise on your back hurt?

LMFAO...ESPN , the hallmark of excellence in journalism...what a crock of sheeeite...

Absolutely gutless...gutless, gutless, gutless...so now we know what we've truly suspected all along is the unvarnished truth..

ESPN is not at all about news or journalism...that's what they say, but it's simply not true...

ESPN is merely another entertainment arm of Disney.....simply entertainment...

I hope PBS does the story and wins a Pulitzer and an Emmy!!!

That's why PBS is one of the last bastions of real journalism, while ESPN is (as it should be) classified as entertainment.

It's kind of journalistic, but it's really about sponsors and ratings.
