    Roethlisberger interview with Cowher

    Anyone see this yesterday?

Ben says this: "You get accused of things and it hurts, especially when you know that there is no truth to it at all. I could sit here and say honestly that I would never and have never harmed a female and never would. I mean, I have a sister. I'm the only boy in the family, I'm the only grandson. So, I would never ever do that and there's vicious allegations that are not true and it does hurt and it's not fun to be accused of things," Roethlisberger said.

After the interview Boomer Esiason was the only one on that panel that nailed it. He basically said that if Ben denies doing anything bad then why accept the suspension? For once, I really admired Boomer here. I feel as though Ben is going to do something again. He's FOS IMO. He came across as a complete liar and in complete denial. You know, like OJ.

With Roethlisberger and Harrison (among others), I hate the Steelers. They all seem to have this sense of entitlement . That the laws don't apply to them. Harrison admits he wants to hurt people and Ben seems to think that he STILL did nothing wrong.

I don't think it's smart for Harrison to say he wants to hurt people in public.  But to be honest, I like the mentality.  I think his namesake Rodney felt the same way.

    Re: Roethlisberger interview with Cowher

If Roethlisberger is actually innocent of all these charges that have been leveled against him and there is some kind of grand conspiracy to defame him (for whatever reason) going on, that is one thing. A more likely scenario is that Roethlisberger has faced comparatively little fallout from his escapades and is still in abject denial of who and what he may be -- and THAT is very dangerous. The longer he is allowed to believe that everything is perfectly fine and that HE is the victim in all this, the more likely it will be that he will do the same exact thing (or something equally despicable) in the future. I would feel more comfortable about this young man if he were actually facing up to his character issues and seeking some kind of professional guidance.

Sadly, that does not appear to be the case.

Too bad he's not the right color to deserve Saint Dungy's assistance.

    (I know . . .   I know . . .   that's a cheap shot. I admit it)

Yep, pretty amazing how they can fit all Steeler fans in Heinz Field.

"...After the interview Boomer Esiason was the only one on that panel that nailed it. He basically said that if Ben denies doing anything bad then why accept the suspension?"

Because the suspension was not for a crime, the suspension was for a violation of the Personal Conduct Policy. Ben never denied he was out heavily drinking on his birthday at bars. He never denied that his party's behavior may of caused a bad scene. Those two issue alone are grounds for a suspension under the NFL's policy. Once the police and press were involved, the NFL and the Rooney's had no choice but to suspend him. Ben had no say in the matter regardless whether the girl's two friends falsely accused him of something or not. Esiason's an idiot for even stating otherwise.

Look, I'm disgusted with his behavior as much as anyone. At worst, maybe he did try and take advantage of the girl. At best, he made a really bad decision to put himself in a situation where he could be accused of such a thing. The guy simply needs to grow up and realize what he represents to the world. Maybe this truly was the wake-up call he needed. I will tell you this: I really believe this is the last chance the Rooney's will give him. One more "issue" like this, and his career as a Steeler is done.

Just one question for you all.  What proof do you have that Ben raped anyone?  I'll be waiting for it.  As far as accepting the suspension, don't you all think that there are times someone will accept a punishment just to get the episode over with and get on with their lives?

Did you see the interview this d0uche had with Hodge?

They asked him something about why America should trust him and he went on about how

"I'm a suburban kid, family values, Christian, family orientated"

I looked at my TV screen and said "You forgot white if you want to be a Conservative hero". Talk about a feeling of entitlement with this guy. I should go around committing crime because he just explained me to a tee. I'm suburban, family values, raised Christian, but I don't exactly go around raping women, do I?

And I loved what he said about why he finally decided to change his ways. God told him to...-_-...

OH MY GOD! This guy is a D0UCHE! And Hodge is a bigger d0uche for not telling him to take responsibility for his actions.

You're sick. I know how much women want to frame poor NFL QBs for rape, oh wait, Ben is the only one who's been accused of rape so far, and twice for that matter. Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, I'm just a goddamn idiot!

Don't try to vilify these women just because that gorilla can throw a ball. What proof do you have that this idiot didn't rape them? Exactly, azzclown.

He wasn't fined for drinking and causing a scene.  That is not illegal, and that is something the team investigates, not the league.  He was fined because he was suspected of taking advantage of the girl, in this case.

Well, I certainly can't come back against such finely articulated arguement as this.  He's guilty as sin, hang his behind.

Steelers fans like Jim here need some way to justify rooting for this immoral human being by pointing to the "legal proof" argument.  While I agree he wasn't proven guilty by a court of law I find it highly suspect that these same situations keep happening to a completely innocent person.
