    Solder looks huge

ESPN Boston had some pictures of Nate Solder, who is taking part in the offseason program. it looks like he's really bulked up, he looks huge! that was the one issue with him really (besides inexperience), was that he looked like he lacked some bulk and strength sometimes. but he looks considerably larger now, and i have a feeling that he will emerge as one of the top LT's in the league this year.

Solder went up to 320 lbs.  He was just over 300 last year.

I hope this is accurate. I have been on him regarding this. He should have done this a year ago. He had pencil arms and was told when he was drafted he needed to get stronger if he was to survive in the trenches.

Solder is still relatively inexperienced and was lacking leverage and technique.  If he bulked up, hopefully, it was as much his lower body as well as upper body to reduce his center of mass..lol

Solder (and Wilfork, Seymour, Warren, Mayo) is proof of why picking high in the draft is a good thing.

Unfortunately we can't have the Raiders pick every year.

no, but the chances of getting a guy like these players is greater at #29 than it is at #52

    Re: Solder looks huge

Belichick took Solder much to the consternation of many posters here, I might add that he was the most athletic player available at tackle in years the only weakness to him was weakness, another 20 pounds of strength means our left tackle is going to dominate.

Also I might add that Belichick took Solder because he read Wozzy's Draft Guide, Solder was the highest rated player on offense and was predicted to go to the Patriots.  That would be two years in a row calling the #1 pick of the Pats...

Depends on the year.  This year, there wasn't much difference between 29 and 52.

I think that is where the disagreements, arguements and fights eminate on this board...many feel that there is a difference, a few feel there is not.

I agree, gravelten.  That's a good standard-sized ruler and a half difference in height to my naked eye.

I'ver read on several other forums that he's around 5'2, which would make sense.

Reiss must be no bigger than a peanut.

I knew Solder was tall but he looks literally like a giant next to him.
