LJ would be a bad seed where ever he goes. He first started getting into trouble back when KC was not as bad as tehy are and still had a shot. Back when Trent Green was playing well so clearly its not just a winning thing. he is simply a bad person. And the Krafts wont have him.

Doesn't it bother you at all to condemn a man you've never even met based on internet rumors?

it would bother me a lot. I prefer to make make my own judgments based on my own observations not other peoples'.

    UncleAlfie,

When do you plan on meeting with Larry Johnson? Are you going to bring any female friends with you? Tell us about your get together with LJ and your judgements post-meeting.
In Response to Re: Source Says Johnson Could End Up A Patriot : Personally I could care less about Johnson but, it's all relative. Hypothetical: If I were a photographer assigned to photograph hunters clubbing to death baby seals in Greenland in January, I would be miserable with a bad attitude. Now if I was assigned to photograph the Center Fold for January's Playboy Mag on a beach in Maui, I would be a very happy S.O.B. Your attitude is influenced by your environment.  Just because Pioli cut him doesn't necessarily mean he wouldn't flourish somewhere else say like NE.
    Posted by K-max
K-max, that's the funniest analogy I've seen all day. And to some degree you're right. The unfortunate thing is there are some players who are just too stupid for words. If Larry Johnson is given another chance in a more positive environment, will he flourish or resort to behavior that got him escorted out of KC?

I knew of one girl friend spitting incident and the heinous use of the word f*g, but these aren't exactly felonies. Admittedly, he has a bad attitude, but that's exactly what dillon and moss had. maybe the potential loss of his career is enough to wake him up and signing him to the type of contract we had with dillon and moss would be win-win for the pats. the chiefs will be liable for the remaining $2.1 million of his salary if no-one picks him off the waiver wire by the end of the day today. http://www.wowt.com/sports/headlines/69585637.html

Yea Alf so what you are telling me is you have no thoughts what so ever one anyone who has ever played sports ever? Because clearly you dont know all of the sports stars all over the world. So since you dont know all of them or any of them you clearly cant have anything to say about them right? So you have no thoughts on Mike Vick cause you have never met the man? No thoughts on Mike Tyson cause you have never met the man? No thoughts on OJ Simpson cause you have never met the man? This is your logic? Whatever floats your boat, me I will "condem" any person I want to because thats my choice. And I dont do so by going off internet rumors, beleave it or not this is the only web site i come to or chat on so i dont go by internet rumors i go off teh facts that are reported by teh men who get paid to report them. If those facts are not correct then i guess you should take it up with the writers who publish them.

    Great analogy K-man, I can see it two ways;

    1) We have Morris and Taylor coming back in 2/5 weeks and we have LM running it better. We also have Faulk and Law Firm so can those guys hold out for the Calvary? Barring injury I think they can.

    2) What a pick up if we can keep him quiet and not pay too much. It also gives BB some security in case LM goes down before Morris and Taylor can make it back. Even if we have them all we could have a rested RB ready to come in and contribute as well as open up different formations against the better pass rushing teams we'll see in the playoffs.

Johnson is a good player, but as a teammate and a person he is no more then human waste. He is the definition of a feces  .I would not urinate on him if he was on fire. But if he promised not to talk to the Press and he could help us win, I would take him.

Re: Source Says Johnson Could End Up A Patriot

Hey Alf are you saying there is something wrong with being anti war? as opposed to being pro war? I am pretty sure that the war should dictate whether you are for or against it, one shouldnt tie themselves down by saying such things. For example I would have been all for WW2 if i was alive back then, I would have signed up right after Pearl Harbor and gone over and killed me some krouts....and of course some Nazi Zombies.... However i would have been against the War in Viet Nam and the war in Iraq. However I supported the troops going into Afganastan (spelt wrong im sure). I guess my point is if you are 100% always for war no matter what you clearly dont think before you act (by you I dont mean you I mean in general). I think sometimes war has to happen and sometimes it doesnt, so does that make me some hippies from Vermont because i am not pro war and pro death all the time?

But anyways back to sports go pats!

Given their past injury history, I think it's reasonable to assume they won't last very long.

The Chargers' LT has a hip injury, and may be done: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/12/lt-has-a-hip-injury/.

If so, could San Diego be a landing spot for LJ? He and Shawne Merriman should hit it off well. They could take turns taking shots at Tequila...LOL!!

Could be wrong, but I do not see the need for him. Questionable attitude, skills looked to have fallen off. 29years old.

    Rather than add a new thread . . .

This story popped up. I wonder what LJ is looking for this weekend? Perhaps a Patriots victory would mean he would take short cash (the bad deal?) to play for the inside AFC favorite?

Maybe he has no offers and is preening to get attention???

I didn't read the ESPN post, ZB. It's better to watch the wire and see what happens. I don't mean who gets the most hits on their twitter account. LJ has some serious criminal issues and I am not worried about his limited carries. He's the right side of 30 and he doesn't look like the bass player for Ziggy Marley's band, however, that doesn't necessarily qualify him to be the Patriots RB. If he can pass block and do some lead blocking then we have a player, but he if he becomes divisive in the locker room then what ? Short term money for short term pain. We have a decent OL and quality inexpensive backs, if not for the injuries to Taylor and Morris this would be a non-issue. Law firm has seen very limited time on the field. LJ would be a mid-season evaluation. I am a big YAContact  person so I'd like to see what LJ has done so far. His role would be limited and he might not be the feature guy. If he's getting 3.2 per carry it's not really worth the aggravation. If we only need him to be a field position all-star how much do we pay him and how much does he pay his lawyers.

i say offer him vet min $600,000, with 1 mil bonus for over 1000 yards. we can cut chris taylor (RB) and there is the potential if he is behind a good O-line that he could return to a top notch player, who can help us in the red zone.  If he doesn't perform, speaks, or becomes a distraction out we simply cut him with little damage

I think the point to be made here is this . . .
Almost ANY RB can get 1000-ish yards given the carries in this league.

The RARE Adrian Peterson types can really carry a team.

But it isn't necessary any more the pay a RB $10million when you can get three guys to do 90% of the same stuff for less money.
