    Tavon Wilson S

OK BB strikes again... who is this kid I have no info on him and the only thing I heard was he was ranked like 200 on the prospect list for the draft. Seems like a reach if that is the case.
I trust BB just have no info

Kiper has him ranked as a priority free agent...the 26th best. For this clown...BB uses the 48th overall pick!!!! Damn-it!

3 year starter at a good school. 4.52 40 with very good cone drills. Lots fo tackles and can "fly around the field" Instant starter on ST. Looks like he will sit behind Gregory for a year and get some time in nickel and dime.

Well the guy is listed at 6'5 and he is fast for a saftey.  Maybe he is tired of us losing those jump balls to the Giants down the field in the Super Bowl.....

Better run defender than pass defender...lacks fluidity in hips...has a hard time sideline to sideline...seems like a reach...disappointing

Didn't Kiper also have Vollmer as a UDFA?

    Kiper is completely overrated.

Everybody knows that this pick absolutely had to be made, does anyone actually think BB wasn't going to reach 4 rounds ahead in the second on a secondary player?

This is what is on boston.com in the extra points section.  They could be wrong.  Wouldnt surprise me.....

FOXBOROUGH -- With the Patriots' third pick of the 2012 NFL draft, and first pick of the second round, the team selected Illinois safety Tavon Wilson.

Wilson, selected No. 48 overall, now joins fellow defensive rookies Chandler Jones and Dont'a Hightower as the Patriots seek to revamp their 31st ranked defense.

The Patriots have one more second round pick remaining at No. 62.

Wilson is a 6-foot-5 free safety that was projected to be picked in the sixth or seventh round.

He was honorable mention in the Big 10 in 2010 and 2011. In his senior year, he started all 13 games for the Fighting Illini, recording 81 tackles (51 solo), seven passes defensed, and an interception.

C'mon BB ...this was a rookie Gm move not worthy of you .

Hopefully you were wearing a clown suit with a big rubber nose when you made this pick.

Maybe Wilson is the real deal...but WHO CARES ?

NOBODY was spending a 2nd on him ...

Trade back  , get an extra pick and get him where -F'in - ever .

he was not invited to the combine, one of the reasons nobody heard of him. imo they could have had this guy much later, that's my only gripe with this pick.

He can't be any worse than Edelman and Slater at safety and maybe even Ihedigbo.  No clue who he is but said the same thing about Vollmer.  Remember Vollmer wasn't invited to combine either.  Could be a total bust but could be a good pick.  You never know.

He's played more corner then safety. Reiss has a small blerb on him. I bet he might play some corner for us. This could work we're thin back there as it is. He'll have to play some safety cause who else do we have. McCourty?.
