because with all the injuries, the Pats have played better than most teams in the NFL and are still in the hunt for the playoffs. To go 9 - 5 after losing an MVP QB in the first quarter of the first game of the year, with just about half of their starting defense on IR, rarely fielding the same starting lineup in back to back weeks, these folks can't stand to admit the Pats can still be this good. Can any other NFL team go 9 - 5 with what the Pats have endured. People speak of Seattle as a team that has gone through a similar season as the Pats, yet they are 3 - 11!!All their posts are nothing but hate filled diatribes against the Pats and their fans. We continue to appreciate our team, support them as true fans and these folks hate it that we do!

I think this is BB's second best season. First being, of course, 2001. You are right, only a few teams could play out a season the way the Pats have this year with all the injuries. The haters will always be out there. They are tired of watching the Pats always win. That's why they will use any excuse to try and justify the fact that their team isn't as good as the Patriots. Playoffs or not this year, a great coaching job by BB.

So true. The true ugliness of the Pats haters was highlighted by the celebration of Brady's injury in NY and elsewhere. Many of these no- class jerks have come here all season long to try to rub it in, but the Pats (sans Brady) have simply refused to fold. I guarantee that neither of the NY teams (nor the Colts) would hold up this well with their starting QB gone in game 1, let alone all the starters gone from this defense. I agree, this may be Bellichick's best coaching job.
The only fact on this thread is that the Patriots had the easiest schedule in the NFL. This is what contributed to your 9-5 record. It had nothing to do with having a great season without Brady...blah blah blah. If you played a schedule like the Steelers had you would be 3-11 right now (even with Brady) so stop your driveling already and go back in the hole you came from 7 years ago when the Patriots started winning.
I rest my case on the nature of your post dismissing the Pats success this year as being the result of an "easy" schedule. You just aren't willing to admit the Pats are a pretty good TEAM given all that has happened.

The Pats DID NOT create their schedule, they play the teams on it nor do they control how those teams have played over the course of this season. I seem to recall the Pats had one of the toughest schedules last year and went 16 -0 WITH Brady. Take your subjective opinions and hate elsewhere.

News flash--PATS STILL NOT GOING DOWN!!!!

You'll have to keep hating till week 16. Admit it, you're all afraid of the Pats in the playoffs. The Pats are peaking at the right time. I'm not saying they'll go all the way, but who wants them in a playoff game? Not the Jets or the Colts, that's for sure.

To Pats haters: the Jets and the Fins will NOT make the SB; they will be good practice for the Titans and Pittsburgh to hone their run to the SB.

Oh, and the Colts are pretenders. 8 game winning streak (lions? Jags? come on)
Ipot... didn't see too many, if any, excuses here for the Pats. Many ackowledge they blew the Colts game, came back too late against the Jets with the D letting everyone down at crunch time and played their worst half of football against the Steelers. What more can you say? The good here, though, in spite of all that has happened, they could still be in the playoffs.

The Pats schedule this year was just about identical to the Jets and Dolphins, so, what does that say about their records? Going into today, the combined records of their respective opponents:

    Pats : 84W - 100L
    Jests: 81W - 100 L - 1T
    Phins: 78 - 104

Both the Phins and Jests had far healthier teams than the Pats, yet, still have yet to put the Pats away! Plus neither of them had to play the Colts and the Steelers. Take away from each team their #1 QB, starting HB and half their starting D, and see if they'd be 10 - 5 now! So don't anyone say the Pats are where they are only because of schedule. Just another way you Pats haters do not want to admit they are better than most even when depleted!

    To SirLeon and Patsgoindown08,

Your own lives and teams must be pretty pathetic and useless for you to feel you have to jump on other fans' teams websites to feel some sense of worth. It's interesting to see how your minds (what's there) works though.

In a rare moment of candid, reflection, you might admit that the Pats have put forth a tremendous team effort in the face of unprecedented lost man-years due to injuries. That stats speak for themselves. How about Cassell's achievement after not starting for 9 years and losing his Dad? Anyway, you kids scoot on back to your teams and their websites. By the way - which team is yours this week?

sday, it is not just the hate, it is the way they continually come to this site and post their hatred. They celebrate anything bad that happens to this team and wish for anything bad to happen to the team. Where such hate arises from is a mystery. It is just a game. It is amazing to think that they sit and stew over this team, thinking of any idiotic post they can place in here just to spew that venom they have for this team. It is blind to common sense and is such a sad commentary on what their lives must be like to be this way.

How A typical of NY fans of all sports to run and hide when the going gets tough. But the Jets do have those 7 Pro Bowlers and lots of a-h*** fans. Y'all have a nice night and a nice offseason.

People hate the Patriots because the Jets tattled like little babies even though it has come out since then that half the league did the same thing (videotaping). It's embarassing as a fan and now we have to take this crap from losers who have nothing better to do.

The Patriots, Belechick included, have done a heck of a job this year with no videotaping and injuries all over the field. I knew they were good, but I never thought they'd win 10 or 11 games with Cassel.

It would stink for the Patriots if they don't make the playoffs after all of this.

After their division games the Patriots, Jets, Dolphins and Bills play 8 out of 10 games against common opponents. This year the AFC EAST was matched against the AFC West and NFC West. Here is how they fared; Pats (7-1), Dolphins (6-2) & Jets (3-5). The last two game games differ by where each team finished the previous year. Pats finished 1st last year so they played the Steelers (AFC North 1st) & Colts (AFC South 1st). Its a set NFL format to which teams play each year. So the talk about who has an easier schedule is a mute point.

At least two patriot players (Hobbs and Mankins) have said if they hadn't lost five games they wouldn't be in this position. Let the chips fall; that's why you have to play 16 games.

That doesn't sound like excuses to me. It's more class coming from a classy organization.
