    Thanks for posting this Babe....I saw this study when it came out and tagged it.

    I think it was MileHighMike, though I'm not sure as it might have been Meadowland Mike, who found it ludicrous when I and others asserted that trolling another fan's forum is an indicator of soul rot.

    Now here comes a study that proves what we intuitivelyi know. If you act like a bully on this forum there is probably something corrupt elsewhere in your life.

    He says "Understanding"?

    In obstinate condolement is a course
    Of impious stubbornness. 'Tis unmanly grief;
    It shows a will most incorrect to heaven,
    A heart unfortified, a mind impatient,
    An understanding simple and unschool'd;
    For what we know must be, and is as common
    As any the most vulgar thing to sense,
    Why should we in our peevish opposition
    Take it to heart?

    Hamlet
    Act I, scene 2

    Xlation: People know only what they do know, and they think it must be true. Others know differently and have exceptions to them. When things turn ugly and discent manifests itself in vulgarity and name calling, then we should just move on without partake. Leave it be! but, aghhh he says "Why, Take it to heart?"  ie; Why argue?

    Because people like to argue? Just who is the smartest, in the room? I suppose this is what artifacts like a forum does to (most) people. It is what it is, perhaps?

    Yes, thanks. I don't post much but I do try to be a smart*$$ myself, in other ways.

    I'm actually surprised that you replied, nobody replies to me ....haha! It matters little to me, i'm not offended at all. I actually posted a OP-ed about 2 months ago, praising many people here for their good work. A few commented but the post fell off the 1st page in less than 3 hours, go figure? Took me an hour to compose it and I foolishly thought it would be a winner. Hootie and the Blowfish are more important to a Pats board than it's good members.

    This forum is now a personal blog for a few. So many good people have gone and fewer post less now. That's sad.

    Have a great night ....

    I got no horse in this race, but a lot of you seem to obsess over what some guy who you'll never meet has to say about a game.  OK, so the subject in question irks a lot of you.  But what's to be said for those who continually engage this person -- someone who means nothing to you in your real lives?  Unless this is a significant portion of your real life -- negative interactions with internet phantoms on BDC?  I'm not trying to be a wank here, but I hope I'm pointing out the obvious.  The same person you lot  call crazy is constantly engaged by whole host of posters who seem to thrive on the back-and-forth banter and delivering cyber punches to some unseen face.  I just don't get it.  I never have and I never will.

    Cables

    Thanks for reframing the context. This is a worthy area for psychological study: the internet as an arena for interaction and battles, real or perceived, to take place where punches are delivered without consequence to our personal safety but also with little meaning as we will likely never meet each other.

    How sick we all must be to keep coming back here to participate in this?
