    Welker in the dog house?

"He said that he enjoyed catching 13 passes against the Denver Broncos to "stick it" in coach Bill Belichick's face." I don't think much will come of it.

Re: Welker in the dog house?

i cant believe... did no one say anything of this all day.

i heard bb's reply on radio when asked about this.

he sounded not happy at all.

    dour. hesitant. not good humored.

    paused.

    ddint want to answer.

then said whatever is said between me and wes is between he and i.

i dont expect on field punishment, but would not be suprised if there is.

a lot is made of bb's sense of humor and he has a good one, but about what HE finds funny.

humor about his team and his job..... that makes it to the media, never looks like he cares for at all ... in fact disdain is a common response.

Re: Welker in the dog house?

Does BB EVER sound happy? Especially at press conferences? Once in a while, in a one-on-one conversation, or his radio spot...he occassional sounds...how should I say this...not grumpy. Not ever happy, but less aggravated. BB went on to say "you'd have to ask Wes what he meant"...and I swear, there was a tiny smirk.

I don't think there is any fallout from this.

He got benched because of the foot diatribe because you do not ever give other teams 'bulletin board material'.

I don't think he gets benched for even a single play because of this.

If anyone didn't think Welker was joking, you need to lighten up, BB included.

Brady put Wes in the dog house a couple of years ago when he described practicing with Wes like throwing a frsiby to a dog. You throw it out there, he runs and gets it and brings it back and asks you to throw it again... all day long.

So yes, I think BB will make Wes go out and run every time TB throws that ball.

hahaha...that's actually pretty funny! kind of true too

certainly funnier than anything Bellichick ever said...then again Couhglin's no laugh riot either...most of those Parcells-tree coaches have little sense of humor but they win so...

I can't speak for Coughlin, but Belichick has a reputation among players of actually being a pretty funny guy at times.  Just not with the media.

Belichick was dour, hesitant and not good humored mostly because of the reporter who asked the question. Tom Curran is becoming a pot stirrer and is not a favorite of Belichick.

Headline should read: Welker makes fun of the media, they don't get the joke.

Apparently neither do some poster's here...
