You are missing the point here. The rhyme has to indicate something true, but since Manning is 5-10 lifetime against the Patriots, he can hardly be said to can the Patriots, can he?
Take it easy on Gomez. He's coming off a very rough weekend.
I have a question about this? Why do so many Colt fans automatically root for Denver, seemingly as if they've been life long Bronco fans?
If Brady left for say Houston for example, are you guys going to suddenly become Texans fans? I wouldn't wish him anything bad, but I'm definitely not rooting for Houston. I'm a Pats fan. Don't care about Houston or any of their players.
Maybe it's me, but plenty of guys that I rooted for have left Boston teams and I didn't start rooting for those teams. Some I rooted against, see Clemens, Roger, but mostly it made no difference.
Ray Bourque is the closest thing I can recall, and while I loved the guy as a Bruin, I was kind of rooting against the Avs that year, although basically I just didn't care one way or the other.
