Why NE will win the Super Bowl next year...

.. because they will be tougher, more battle hardened and playoff seasoned.

Offensively the tightend unit of Gronk, Ballard, Huey and Fells if they keep him will be the most physical TE unit in the NFL.  This will allow Hernandez to stick to fullback and wide receiver where he is a mismatch for the entire NFL.  Our offense will be bigger, more physical and tougher.

Defense will need one more draft to round it out.  Another D tackle either the draft or via free agency would help greatly. If we could get a unit of Wilfork, player x, Love and Deaderick this would mean we could ply more three man fronts like the Ravens do and like we used to do, this would make us more stout upfront and allow Chandler and Francis to play end and outside linebacker at times. This would also allow Nincovich to go back to a more traditional outside linebacker position opposite Hightower, leaving Spikes and Mayo inside with a lot of room to roam with a bigger front in between them and the opposing O line.

In short we have to get bigger, tougher, meaner and hungrier to win, hopefully this season will give us ammo to finish Brady's career in the way it should finish.  We've been finesse for too long, expecting that to change in one season or two was probably unrealistic.  Next season can't come soon enough... bring on the draft.

Been drinking? Pats will win division by default, and be exposed again in playoffs...only way Brady gets another ring is as a backup to another QB, just like Bledsoe

Been drinking? Bledsoe never won three rings, Brady is still the best QB in the game.

Football is a team sport, in 2001 he didn't play well in the Snow Bowl game against the Raiders but he played well enough to win.  True of games in 2003 and 04.'

We need to bring in a couple of proven veterans to complement what we have.  I don't think we can rely on the draft by itself.  We need A Proven pass rusher to go along with what we have.  Hopefully Jones will improve next year and stay healthy.  As I said on another post, if we want to win another Super Bowl before Brady is done, we need to do whatever it takes in the next two years.  We may have to go through a few down years after that but it would be worth it.  It is hard to find a franchise QB

This thread would have been more credible if titled "Why We Shall Continue To Be A Super Bowl Contender Next Year & Beyond"

It takes 3-4 consecutive PS wins against top caliber NFL Teams to achieve this. You could be the '85 Bears, and it's still not an easy task.

It's all about health and the addition of a couple key players. This team could easily win the Super Bowl next year with some good health for a change, and a bounce going their way now and then.

Agree.  If Talib comes back with Dennard and Ras Dowling and they all stay healthy we would have a pretty good set of CB.  I still think we need a proven veteran pass rusher and a WR.  It seems every year lately one or two key players get, hurt, but that is part of the game.

Sure, y'all are making good points but why isn't anyone saying we need a true big man WR as well?

You know something Wozzy, one year we will end the season and not utter those words, " The Pats will be back next year and better than ever!".  There is going to be a realization the downhill slide begins, when, we can't say.  For now, too many young players on this team to think a downhill slide is starting.  The Pats may still be the favorite to win next year, but, if the 49ers do the job, I see them as the favs.

Like the positive vibe Wozz...especially after yesterday.

I think they let Fells walk, and keep 3 TE's...Gronk, Ballard, Hooman...hybrid WR/TE Hern plays more WR and possibly backfield, option to play TE also. That makes them bigger, tougher but not faster.

As do fans of EVERY TEAM in the NFL that loses in the playoffs.  Next year we'll be better, they all say.  Or, does this not happen with fans of NY teams?
