    Anyone For Mark Trumbo?

Angels willing to trade for young pitching and he could fill 1st base hole for many years to come.

Why not just let Carp play as we already have him under team control through arbitration for the next three years?

    Re: Anyone For Mark Trumbo?

If Napoli is not resigned, I would trade a pitcher for Trumbo even if he OPB% is not really good at this point.

I think that he would be a 30+ HR threat to hit behind Ortiz, and also that Ortiz would help educate and coach him about the importance of becoming more selective, etc at the plate.

He may even hit 40 HRs playing 80 games in Fenway and the other 36 or so games in the AL East with Toronto, Baltimore and Tampa not impossible to hit HRs in.

This guy's power is hard to find (better than Napoli) and the Sox have a surplus of pitching.  Butterfield is an amazing infield coach (just look at Napoli's improvment during the season) so he could get Trumbo to be at least decent by the time the first game rolls around.
