    Not an ace by a long shot.  The Phillies hit him hard, but liners were catchable.

    It appears he's under team control thru 2014, so the real question is what we could get for him in a trade / package deal.

    Who would we have to give up + cash considerations to get mid-rotation help under control for 2-3 years?

    When you call out your team the way he did last time, it doesnt matter too much how valuable you are. Hes a good long reliever/spot starter. There are plenty of those.

    liners that are caught are OUTS. bloopers that aren't are called HITS. nobody said the game was fair.

     




    No kidding.  If you watched the game, you would know what I am talking about.  Wasn't it the 5th inning when the bases were loaded and Ellsbury caught a line drive on the dead run in deep centerfield?  Aceves deserves a tone of credit for hanging in there, but he also lived a charmed life last night.
