since 2000 Sox have had great sucess, this is the Sox 5th time deep into the postseason(LCS/WS), a win today puts them in their 3rd WS in that span with a chance to be perfect in three tries...should be fun...

Another toughie, Scherzer.  Winning is everything, of course, but just being in the ALCS has been a fantastic bonus to 2013.  Tigers are the worthy opponent, as most years the Yankees have been, albeit one sided in NYY's favor.

If April is the cruelest month, October is to be savored.

The road to WS gets very tough very fast if Sox can't close the series today.  Don't want to face Verlander in an elimination game.

Very true and the right way to see tonight even though Lackey beat Verlander in a miraculous game 3.

Up three games to two, at home for game 6 of the ALCS, does it get any better.

Hopefully some home cookin will help get our bats to wake up and Clay steps up and give us a big game performance. The Tigers won't go quietly into the night, playing in the first must win game of the series with Scherzer on the bump. Leyland will throw everything he has at us, too include Verlander if it comes to that. All of the pressure is on the Tigers tonight who must win or go home.

12 hours and counting until the first pitch....the clock can't move fast enough..tic, toc, tic, toc..

Hey Jete...  between Scherzer and Verlander, Sox has better chance agasint Scherzer, even if Bucholz pitches against him.

Verlander still has the capacity to pitch 130 or so pitches consitently at 95 and up, with good late movement.  Napoli's HR was the difference in game 3, can't count on that again in game 7.

Buchholz should cut out those mistakes that Cabby and Avila sent packing, Farrell has to keep keep in in a short leash, and play this game as if it is game 7.

[/QUOTE] agree... though it will be Verlander, should he(and CBuch) falter it would likely be "all hands on deck" for both sides..

I like the lineup, with potential pop from anywhere in the lineup.  No way they should let Scherzer throw strike outs like he did in game 2.

It  is going to come to Bucholz holding the Tigers to under 2 runs over 5 innings.  Bucholz should not start 6th even if the game is close.

Doubront, Breslow, Taz and Koji can bring the series home after that.  Tigers find LHP a bit more difficult than RHP in general.

Well...here's where we see if home field advantage really makes a huge difference. I think in terms of pitching it will for sure. Our offense seems to be picking up a little so I am hoping that they give Buch more than a 2 run cushion to take the pressure off.

    What to humbly expect tonight:

A Fenway momentum... A solid  performance from Ells, Pedey  and Papi... the holy grace of a Nap persistent trend... Lefties bumping the green monster... 16 excellent outs from Bucholz and another five  from Saint Koji... A divine acknowledgement that Ben and John deserve a heavenly Oscar... GO SOX....NO GAME TOMORROW... LACKEY AGAINST CARDS...

(breaks and sheer luck are widely accepted)
