We never should have traded Loney.

We didn't...he was a free agent at the end of last season and the Sox let him walk.
And, why not?  The guy stunk it up all last season.

    Everyone just relax.

I'm going to play the role of the old timer --- makes sense... i'm old...

i've pissed and moaned my way through 76, 77, 78... 86.... the late 90's, early oughts... the rough spots since 2007.

This team is different. In all of my years watching the Red Sox I have never seen a Red Sox team so completely in control.

    These guys are good.

both managers had the best hitters coming up at key situations and chose to pitch to them....why bother managing at all? but Longoria should have been sent packing to first base regardless of the matchup...

    As always - 100% correct!

maybe not intentionally geo, but nothing to hit

Abso agreed - In my lifetime (early 70s and on) this is the most clutch Sox team I have ever seen but WHY DID WE PITCH TO LONGORIA? the guy is a postseason homerun machine

We need to take back the momentum right away. It has shifted to the Rays.  A couple of runs here would regain it.

    Stabbed by Foulke.

I'd send Buch back out, gale. first sign of trouble, go to the pen

I don't know. He has not looked too sharp tonight.  But I don't care for Workman.

True... But he's been pretty weak this series. The (recent) averages were on our side. They took a shot. Live and learn.

I agree.  I didn't really want to give Myers a chance to atone for his bad series.

Okay. We need to score now. Do not want to get into a sudden death, walk off situation in this game.

Especially strange seeing John Smoltz WAS a member of the Red Sox a few years ago.
