one of our catchers who spent some of the season injured and down in Pawtucket.  Not much of a bat but defensively is very good with a good throw to second.

He's going w/ Ross over Salty vs as LHSP but will stick w/ Drew over Boggy?

Ross isn't going to play unless Salty can't go. This is not the regular season. You go all out with your best players from hereon in.

You're right, but I think Peter Abraham has already said Farrell plans to use Ross in game 1 or 2.

    That's right!  It's not me, it's Farrell

I would go with the following against Price:

    1)  Vic

    2)  Pedey

    3)  Ortiz

    4)  Nap

    5)  Middlebrooks

    6) Gomes

    7)  Salty

    8)  Boggarts

    9)  Ellsbury

Seriously, you are questioning why Drew will play over Boggie?  Perhaps because Boggie has had a very limited playing time sinced called up.

I agree on the Boegaarts instead of Drew vs Price in Game 2, but Max made a good point that Drew is 2/5 vs Moore and with Moore being a little wild, Drew will be more patient than Bogey.....so Drew Vs Moore, Bogey vs Price.....as for Salty/Ross, Farrell has said he will use Ross in one of the 1st 2 games and Salty is 1/14 vs Price and Ross is 2/5 with 2 hrs.....So Ross vs Price and Salty vs Moore in Game 1.....if however we get into a Game 5 versus Price....I would think Farrell will go with all his normal starters....he is not going to lose a Game with Salty/Drew on the Bench.

you could almost say the same thing about Ortiz.  Do you want to take him out too?  Has Boggie even faced Price?  Boggie finished the year with a .250 average with one homer, not exactly electricfying.  He also had a few errors, one which cost a game.  I will stick with drew but if Farrell goes with Boggie, I respect the decision.

Ia gree Andrew and I think their is chance Farrell will play Bogey in Game 2 vs Price....but unless Bogey has a great game vs Price(at least 2 hits), I would bet he goes with his Vets in a deciding game 5....I dont like it but thats what he would do....the Tito influence

i was at Fenway for the Rays July series. Saw Moore and Price (twice), dont like them at all, but in short series, best player, frequently, is lady luck...both can win, but only one will...circumstances will tell if Rays continue to be hot or just cool off, is Sox layoff was a blessing or a curse... My prediction : a very tough series that could go either way...GO SOX!...

We beat them all year. We will beat them now. Sox will find a way to win , despite the Ray's pitching.

Yes, we did beat them this year, but not by facing Moore and Price in 80% of the games.

0nly 80% if they change things. As of now, Hellickson is pitching game four.  That would make it 60 % if this goes five.  IF IT GOES FIVE. By the way, Moore looked very impressive today.

Moore was done in by defensive lapses.  Never would have expected that.

The stats don't tell you everything. Post season pressure. It effects different players in different ways. The defensive lapses notwithstanding, Moore looked very hittable.

That is one way to look at it.

Another is:  the defensive lapses (including one egregious one of his own) created some adversity for him.  What a top calibre pitcher does in this situation is stay calm, excecute and limit damage.  But, the miscues unraveled the kid.  They certainly hurt the cause, but Moore did himself in, or the Red Sox relentless pressure did him in.
