    Chickengate

The Globe sportswriters have disgraced themselves, the paper and its legacy re the Sox' collapse.  If these guys are the crack journalists they pretend to be, why didn't they know anything about Chickengate in June, July and August?  If they did know about that grotesque, poultry-based violation of trust, why did they all conspire to cover it up?

The answer is simple....they did know but they didn't report it during the good times because it's absurd, nearly irrelevant....but it's easy to come over all Helen Lovejoy ("Please, won't somebody think about the chicken!") rather than write something thoughtful.

Yes. It's like a poultry prison surrounded by hack guards.

I would still like to hear from my favorite Boston pitcher Josh Beckett. He better say something and be honest about it.

Other than that its over for me, I want to know what in the hell we are gonna do to be better in 2012 and that includes how the players are going to conduct themselves.

Even the umpires were aware of it when they had to toss baseballs out of play that had chicken grease and sauce on them.
