    Does Jon Lester pick up his first W tonight?

    Lester historically was one of our starter's that put up fantastic W-L splits, he has now been winless in his last 8 appearances, does he break the skid tonight?

    The Sox are hot, but running into a hot Jake Peavy. Ultimately I say that doesn't stop them, I don't think Lester puts up his best performance, but good enough for the win, final score 7-4.

    Lester will win tonite. He is a good pitcher off to a slow start. Plus the White Sox stink as we have seen.

    It's nearly May and the "Ace" is yet to earn his first "W" .........

    I'm going to go against the odds and say yes, even though it is still April.

     Lester certainly had "Ace" stuff his first two starts, he had no run support. His third start was terrible and his 4th was good, not great. It usually takes more than a pitchers "Ace" performance, to earn a "W"

    Actually, real aces didn't need much run support - see Jack Morris and Luis Tiant........

    Hard to feel sorry for a guy w/ an ERA of 6

    Posted by andrewmitch[/QUOTE]You do realize that your team is on a 5 game winning streak right? You might try being happy about that. Smile

    Sure, I am thrilled that they can beat up on the weaker teams in the league.

    He pitched a great game.

    But if you want to put in perspective:

    *  Peavy pitched even better

    *  It's only the White Sox (who other than Konerko really scares you?)

    *  It could have gone the other way; see A Dunn's baserunning blunder

    Having said all of that, Lester deserves a big congrats on finally winning a game after being unsuccessfuly in his previous 4
