    Holy Napoli !

Sox should sign him up for 3 more years.

This guy is this year's version of Bill Mueller and Mike Lowell from character stand point - always quiet comfort.

I do not want to hear lackey griping about no run support ! You walk Nunez on 4 pitches and you have a 9 run lead ! Please do not pitch Thornton any more !

5.2 innings, 8 hits, 3 walks and 7 earned runs. Did Lackey just pitch himself out of a starting playoff assignment?

    [/QUOTE]

One bad outing in the last month and you are ready to give up on him?  Are you serious?  Would you rather start Doubront or Dempster.  This man has been solid.  Unbelievably, after losing so many quality starts, looks like he'll win this one.

Lackey has been their best starter and most consistent one as well and to suggest he pitched himself out of the rotation today is  halarious!

When Napoli was struggling a few wks ago, I looked at his #s over the past few yrs, and thought his slump wouldn't last, he's better than that, and he shall go on a HR tear. Guess I was right.

Keep in mind he likely would have been the WS MVP if Texas won in 2011.

WTH.  Walks Overbay with 4 straight balls.

Tazawa should not have walked this guy, with a 4 run cushion, and only 2 outs with nobody on.  This moves the needle a bit towards difficult for Sox.

Why ?  Lefty against lefty, with Uehara not available for the game.

I would have preferred Uehara not pitching yesterday though, and keep him fresh for today.

Gave us a little scare, but a win just the same. A sweep would be great.

Listened to Stirling/ Waldman, who referred to the RS dugout as 'Looking like a box of cough drops'. Did they really have to go there?

Napoli homers for Boston's first and last runs.  He opened the account today, and closed it.  Awesome guy, glad he wears Red Sox uniform.

He is going to be the difference maker for Sox in the playoffs.

Hoping for a sweep tomorrow for win #88, with 18 more to go.

Even with a 9-9 for the rest of the season, they could finish with 97 wins.

Now, rooting for the Tigers to lose.  Shooting for home field ad.
