    Hirayaki Nakajima ?

Quick history on him, last year the Yanks won the qualifying bid with 2 mill did not play with Yanks.

Able to come over to MLB as FA w/o going through post process. There other teams that interested in him.

Profile age 30, batting and throwing is right handed aprox. played 10 full seasons for the seibu lions.

career avgs. per season batting 302, Runs 70, Hits 138,  HR 16, RBI 74, SB 15, BB 41 and SO 88 lets throw in 2B hits 25

If the Red Sox want to secure their SS mid field positions with good value player this could be a reasonable opportunity. Ciriiaco and Middlebrooks 3B, Iglesias and Nakajima SS, Ped and Ciriaco 2B.

The latest rumours are the Sox are looking for vet SS. Nakajima is not a MLB vet but has experience in a competive Japenese league.

This is a suggestion only but more info about this player is open for discussion.

I have no faith in Ciriaco, so why not?

We do have 2 uncertain mid infield players at the moment, but this Japenese player will not guarantee us a great SS. His numbers are above avg. and can also add speed when on base. Lot of posters reaction will be it is different league ...

Cherrington was on the WEEI and sounds like he just got the green light to spend some cash.

The Dice K syndrome will definetly put a grey cloud over most Sox fans; but Dice K came into the league with high expectations got off to good start ran into some hiccups and never rebounded from it. The sox fans can look at other misfortunes Crawford Gonz and at the moment Lackey.

You will all be singing a different tune at the end of next season,Iglesias is the best SS the Sox have ever employed. He makes plays in the field that would make Ozzie Smith cry with envy! Can he hit? Who knows but he was able to hit at each level at least to the point of not being an automatic out. His glove alone will drop the teams ERA down 20 pts. As for Pedro Ciriaco he was one of only three or four players on last years team who gave 100 pct effort every time he was in the lineup. Is he a great player who knows but he at least tries to be!!!

Nakajima was a Valentine favorite, and had Bobby been retained for next season, it would have been surprising if Nakajima had signed anywhere else.

With Bobby gone, I don't know if Nakajima has much support in the organization..

I agree about Iggy. He will save a ton of runs, and after adjusting a couple months he has always hit enough at each level to justify starting. If people would look a little deeper than just what he did while in Boston they would realize this and maybe have a little faith that he can hit better in MLB.
