Not sure where he will play though.  1B and DH already taken.  Carp also in play for 1B platoon.  But I want to see Morneau in Red Sox uniform.

Sox should look into signing Sizemore this offseason to minor league deal.  http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/08/grady-sizemore-likely-to-sign-in-offseason.html

With Ellsbury almost guaranteed to leave after this season, Sizemore can be CF depth if JBJ struggles and needs temporary option while JBJ getting more time in the minor just like WMB.  Obviously Sizemore will have to pass the physical before he signs.

Or Nava can be optioned and Carp/Gomes at LF and Napoli/Morneau at 1B but I don't think FO will consider this as option with Nava having a solid season.

they can have nava or carp along with a low prospect.  IF boston claimed him and minnesota will have one time chance to make a deal with boston.  If they dont like the deal that Boston offer, and they can pull him off of the waiver and cant not put him back on waiver for another 30 days.

So advantage will goes to Boston!!

Along WITH a low prospect? How about a rule-5 kid that wont be protected for a couple months of a .743OPS 1b whos owed a good chunck of change still. Not sure he would be a better option at this point enough to give up Carp or nava AND pay the rest of his 14M salary.

.262 BA. last 7 days .222, 14 days .263, 28 days .228. Nava and Carp probably do better.

    His clutch stats stink too.

.255 2 outs RISP, late and close .160, Tie game .200, within 1 run .232.

Nava got a .296 BA at Fenway Carp has a .320 BA at Fenway, Have to admit Morneau hits good at Fenway  .375 BA.

Does nobody care that Morneau seems to be injured more often than ... ahem ... Ellsbury?  He missed half of 2010 and 2011 ... and since 2010, he has not hit .270????  (Old school BA ... )

The Twins don't give up their dead for pennies and they won't give up Morneau for nuttin ...

Just what the Sox need. Another left handed bat.

Does anyone realize that the Sox OF will hit less Hrs and less RBI than any year

    in the post deadball era?

This team needs a right handed power hitting OF, like Giancarlo Stanton.

The Sox can get him without trading Bogaerts. They have enough prospects to

    satisfy Miami.

    Sizemore? You're kidding, right?

Morneau has a .743 OPS.  Nava is at .785, Carp is at .933, and both of them can play the OF.

Why would we want a more limited, less flexible player, at a higher price?
