If I Had To Pick MVP of Game #4 It Would Go To.....

The kid, Xander. If he does not take that walk in the 7th inning we probably lose this game. He then takes another walk in the 9th and scores another run.

Lots of good picks, which shows what a true team win it was.  I'd give it to Victorino. He hasn't been healthy all year, but he busted his tail to to get down the line on that slow roller. And he took two for the team.

Peavy. He kept them in the game, then Breslow. Good pitching always beats......

We scored the tying run on a Wild Pitch

So I have to go to our pitching

Brez shut them down and shut them up

And he did it w/ flare

All good picks. But Sox were and doing nothing on the offense. Looks like we were about to lose this game Then comes to the plate is Xander. He draws a walk which started the scoring.

And at least Farrell admitted his mistake from last night regarding not using Boggy for Drew vs a tough lefty

He was just asked if it played into his decision tonight; he said he would be lying, if he said no. Great managerial game tonight. He made all the right calls and moves.

I'll go with Notin, who always knows best, and agree that, if not for Breslow, we have a different game.

Game: Breslow (2nd choice: Peavy: two words: Dempster Doubront)

Series: Victorino (2nd choice: Ellsbury: two words: softy clown)

A lot of credit to go around. I give it to Ellsbury. The hit off of McGee was the difference. That changed the game.

How about Uehara for throwing at Longoria's head?

Sure, Anderson said it "got away."   But we all knew Koji was saying "Really?  You hit Victorino FOUR TIMES!!?"

Yep, Peavy was great and kept us in the game. Breslow made sure we won the game, did it with intensity and really injected confidence into this game.

I think he meant to throw it high and inside, but he probably added a little bit extra for all the Rays shenanigans.

I think Koji just over threw the pitch, trying to finish it off.  No way you want to risk hitting him and bringing the tying run to the plate.

Mine would be Peavy, but, if there ever was a quintessential team win, this was it.  Those 9 Rays pitchers also gave up 8 walks and assorted HBP and WP.  No way does a lineup player get MVP.

    Breslow by far!!!!!!!!!

Or second is Victorino!!!  How often you see a guy would take a beating at the plate?

Peavy & Breslow share the award.  AWESOME job by both.

How is that Peavey/Iglesias trade looking now?

That would have been Dempster or Doubront out there last night.

Candidates - Peavy, Victorino, Ellsbury, Breslow, Boegarts

    Tough choice

    And, for me....

Victorino:  Took 2 hits, blocked Lobaton's view for first pitch from new pitcher with runners on corners with a fake bunt, turned it into a wild pitch for tying run to score.  2 pitches later, legs a infield single to SS with 2 outs, to score the go-ahead run.  That was the difference in the game.

Too many to pick, but the crucial time in the game was Ellsbury. Walks are huge granted, but you need to hit. Heads up play to get to third, after wild pitch. Without that hit, nothing matters. Against tough Lefty too.
Breslow was fantastic, but Farrell gets the credit, saw that Peavy was starting to get hit, kept it manageable.
    Total team effort.
