If Victorino is out for Game 6, should Bogarts bat 2nd?

I thought he should have been put higher up in the lineup, maybe batting 2nd in Victorino's absence in Boston.  The games in St. Louis, I thought he should have been behind Ortiz with Napoli out.  What are your thoughts on this?

Re: If Victorino is out for Game 6, should Bogarts bat 2nd?

I really loved seeing Papi bat 3rd as that is where I wanted him all year. The Cards had Berltran hitting 4th last night, and he got one less PA than the 1-3 hitters (good news for us). I wouldn't want Papi to be left on deck as the game ends.

Maybe we can go with this:

    1) Ells

    2) Pedey

    3) Ortiz

    4) Napoli

    5) Gomes

    6) Victorino (Nava)

    7) Bogey

    8) Drew

    9) Ross

(I might flip Bogey and Victorino/Nava, so Bogey bats 6th not 7th.)

I like that but I think I'd go with your other option and have Xander hit 6th.

I thought the 3 hole would be nice at first. Hitting well in front of papi and letting Pedey hit in front of him. After seeing what the top of the lineup did last night, I liked having papi 3rd to get an AB in the 1st inning the way hes hitting.

Id keep him where he is for now. It gives the lower part of the lineup some pop. Seems more balanced with Bogey 6-9.

I like this as well but if victorino is playing Gomes is watching.  Nava Victorino Bogey Drew Ross. If victorino is so bad he cant play the last two im not sure he can go in game 6.  He must be hurting bad bc he is not a guy to not wanna play.

No.  Red Sox started the game by scoring the first run of the game.

Plus Napoli is back in the line up.  Meaning either Farrell will go back with his original line up if Victorino is back.  If not, then Farrell will use the same line up from game 5 except inserting Napoli in the 4 spot and move everyone down at one spot.

Im not so sure about this.  jacoby and victorino werent getting on.  Papi lead off a lot of innings.  Im going jacoby pedey papi Napoli regardless.  I think it creates more chances and there is a chance they could get an extra at bat.

Even if Victorino plays, he should not bat 2nd. If he plays, lineup should be:

    Ellsbury

    Pedroia

    Ortiz

    Napoli

    Nava/Gomes

    Victorino

    Bogaerts

    Drew

    Ross

I am counting on Vic for being back now for the remainder.  He's too important for us in Fenway in that RF.............

Because of the expansive right field at Fenway, if there is any chance Victorino's back holds up, he'll be in the lineup.  And if he is in the lineup, my guess is Farrell 'dances with the one who got him to the dance'.  Victorino bats 2nd. That in effect leaves Bogaerts in the lower half of the batting order.

And since Farrell has successfully steered the ship this far, I'll trust in his decision and support the decision regardless of the outcome.

Re: If Victorino is out for Game 6, should Bogarts bat 2nd?

Looks like Ross is the regular catcher now, with Salty as the back up.  I am liking that.

As for Bogey in the lineup, he is fine where he is.  He started the scoring with his single straight up the middle in the 7th last night, and the guys following him kept piling.

He has started quite a number of scoring campaigns late in the game at the most ciritcal moements in this post season.  Remember the walk that started the scoring agasint Verlander, or was it Scherzer.

Top of the lineup is fine the way it is.  In fact the entire lineup is fine.  Better to not change too many things at this stage in the season, with having to win only 1 game for the biggest prize in BB.

This lineup makes the most sense. Get Papi 3rd so that he can bat in the first inning. Why put Victorino there, he doesnt have a hit the entire series.
