    Jenks/Wheeler DL'd

About time..both have dead arms. Sox should have been more agressive on this issue and done something last week!

I don't think they are really hurt. It's just a move to get up a couple guys from Pawtucket who are actually pitching well.

Standard operating procedure for the sawx. They have done the same with beckett when he pitched poorly and with dice k when he pitched poorly.

MLB should investigate them for this ongoing fraud.

DL is a good way to do this.  Wheeler and Jenks need a break and time to figure out how to pitch again.  Reportedly Wheeler is unhappy being on the DL. Too bad.  He and Jenks have been killing the Sox--watching them work is like watching that Hitchcock movie, "Saboteur."

Right, that's why they have been running a bunch of tests on him to find out why his velocity dropped. jenks and wheeler were put on the dl because they can't pitch, not because of an injury.

What's Hughes injury? And just out of curiosity, what makes you think Jenks and/or Wheeler doesn't have an injury? Maybe they have sore arms too.

I know you guys have trouble reading. Hughes had inflammation in his shoulder and received a cortisone shot for it.

Maybe wheeler has a sore arm so they listed it as a calf strain?

Do you actually follow your team?

    Re: Jenks/Wheeler DL'd

Wheeler can be unhappy all he wants. He should realize the team comes first and they need pitchers. If his ERA was south of 5.00 he'd have a little bit of an argument, but an ERA over 11? If he wasn't a free agent signing, he'd be DFA'd already. He should be thankful he's still on the roster and collecting a check.

    Re: Jenks/Wheeler DL'd

It makes no sense whatsoever to put a pitcher with a 10+ era into a game that we have a chance of winning. Wheeler has been horrible and Tito was simply wrong for going with him in that situation! The writing was on the wall. Wheeler was going to blow it! As a result, we had to go through the entire bullpen anyway. Tito's efforts at saving arms cost us every single one. Why not go for the win when it is in sight?

As an aside, why keep Lackey in there today when it is obvious he does not have it. Seems that Tito doesn't know when to pull a pitcher. Keep a short leash Tito!

    Re: Jenks/Wheeler DL'd

Don't confuse the DL - disabled list - with this particular action against Jenks/Wheeler.
The "DL" they've been place on is the "Doing Less" inability list.

They will be privy to watch a video seminar of others who have come to Boston and have under performed. Guess speaker: Eric Gagne.
