    Hamilton is certainly worth looking at even if everyone agrees that the Red Sox need more starting pitching. 

    How can you not take a long look at this guy?  He slumped a little bit at the end of last year, but still had an unbelieveable season.  How could the Red Sox not be a better team if he even fell off to 30 HRs and 110 RBIs?

    I understand the Sox not wanting to go beyond 3 years with a contract, but three years at $70 M is affordable and will be productive.  He can still play the outfield, and also should buy a first baseman's glove just in case he needs it by the end of the three year contract.

    And, as was mentioned, the Yankees are always in contention for every big star.  Hamilton may hit 50 HRs next year if he plays 75 games in Yankee Stadium.  The Yankees seem to be somewhat worried about being over the tax limit as getting under it even for one year will save them millions and millions over the next ten years, but tnever count them out either.
