Which would suggest Aceves to the rotation and Wilson to take his spot in the bullpen.

Wasn't this why F. Morales was stretched?

Did Aceves do any long work in the spring?

Morales has been dealing with back issues daf and Aceves was stretched out. At least thats what was said.

    UGH...

Wilson is mediocre....Aceves is a headcase.

Webster is Olney's pick for ROY.  Dominated the spring.  Threw a 98 MPH sinker.

What am I missing?  Are we saving a year of control?

If Lackey's DL trip takes longer time then I see Webster getting called up.  Webster just had solid AAA debut not allowing a single run during 5 innings of work.

OPS+ adjusts and measures Jed's OPS.  His OPS+ is 101.  That is about as average as average gets.

So we have an average hitting SS who cant play the position or stay healthy.

He was traded for Melancon , who was in turn traded for Hanrahan (the included prospects were throw ins).

Sox (indirectly) got Hanrahan for Lowrie.   Lowrie (a utility IF really) for a proven closer who is pitching well?  We actually made out pretty well.

I would have preferred to see Webster start too, and Aceves kept in the role that best suits him: long relief.

Re: Lackey to DL, Wilson called up.

I think there is a dual purpose of starting Aceves.....the Sox need to Showcase him. When Morales and Breslow are ready to go off the DL, he is the logical option to be moved. If he can give us a few good starts it will increase his value and marketability...he hasnt done that with his relief appearances so far.

I got to agree,I'd much rather see Webster starting.Maybe they're showcasing Aceves for a trade. If he can prove he's a provide a decent start or two, that'll bring his value up.

Id like to see how Wilson performs out of the pen since being switched to a reliever. At 26 he needs to prove something if hes going to stick around.

Wilson pitched 90% of 2012 as a closer/reliever. No more adjustment needed.

Might want to see more than 5 innings above AA level from Webster before putting him on 40-man , let alone callup & insertion into ML rotation.

I think he'll be a stud, and fully expect him up by August if not sooner, though; D-Lowe plus heat,

Meanwhile Alex Wilson IS on the roster, and needs a tryout.

Honestly, I would like to see Webster get a start, but I understand thats probably not going to happen right now. I have a feeling Wilson might be the 1st guy out of the pen tonight because I dont see Aceves making it through the 4-5th inning.

Hopefully Im wrong and he has a QS.
