None of us knows as well as Farrell. Trust him. There will always be those that know more than him. (After the fact of course)

If you don't mind, I am going to move that down to 97% and suggest Doubront for G4.

    Absolutely!

    Lester, Lackey, Buch, then Peavy

I think Peavy step up & bounces back big time.  I think he knows he was way over-hyped, & will notch it back a peg or two.  Then pitch his arzz off.

Lester, Lackey, Buck then REASSESS........I am not just going to hand the ball over to Peavy.....What if we are down 2-1 and there is a rain out?  Skip over Jake.......Can you piece something better w/ Doubrant and Workman???  Stay away from Jake......

Detroit was not a good matchup for Peavy.  They've seen him a lot the last few years and had success.  He has good numbers against St. Louis.  Should be a much better matchup for him.

good point. it wasn't that peavy was getting hit or even hit hard...... he just couldnt find the plate. a combination of nerves and poor eyesight no doubt.

Tiant, Pedro, Schilling, Beckett (2007 version)

Start those four at their postseason best and I'm a happy man.

One thing peavy gives you is probably a better bat in St. Louis than Doubie,

but he needs to pitch better or it is a quick hook

There was definitely something wrong with Peavy in game 4.  It was probably bad lighting - Detroit skimping on the electric bill.

    LOL

The amazing thing is that between Verlander and Fielder they could combine their resources and purchase the entire filthy city!!!!!!!!!

At this point Lackey is #2 over Bucholz because not only can he pitch deep into 7th inning unlike Buck, but can also be very competitive because he has been there on the big stage before.

It will be Lester & Lackey agasint Wainright and Macha.

Bucholz and Peavy will go in that order for #3 and #4.  Then the rotation repeats as needed.

My bigger question is the value of Morales in the roster.  When he is on, he can be over powering, but more often he lacks control and walks people in the most inopportune moments.

One thing to consider is the game 4 starter is very important because you need to save the pen for a Game 5 which is often times considered to be the most important game

Pen is fresh in G1, G3, & G6 and G7 it's all hands on deck....G2 you can you go nuts b/c you have the off day......but Game 4 you could have used some arms in G3 and you want to save them for G5........so G4 becomes critical in terms of getting some length out of your pen.......the point is if you throw your horses in back to back days, your pen will not only become rusty but then you will need to over-use them for 2 days in a row........should be OK though because of all the off days.......

Peavy is more familiar with the NL and has the most plate appearances so he could be the best /hitter/bunter of the group.   Hopefully the other pitchers can lay down betetr bunts than Drew and Victorino.

I'd go with Lester, Lackey, Bucholtz and Peavy.

I don't start Doubrant since St. Louis is primarily a right handed lineup.

Not disagreeing, but the fact that Detroit had knocked him around in the past and knew him well may have factored into his inability to throw strikes.

Peavey is not a bad hitter. Career 173.

I don't see him losing his spot in the rotation because of one bad start. That isn't Farrell's style.

I like the idea of using Bucholtz in game 3 as it will give him 6 days rest.
