The Celtics are getting a much needed first round draft pick for a coach who was not going to coach here next year anyway.

Agree.  All teams had a bad weekend.  Terrible watching the Bruins lose and Chicago looked like the better team in games 4 and 5.  I will remain optimistic but it won't be easy for the Bruins to win 2 games.   The news about Hernandez is terrible and a big loss for the Patriots.  Hopefully, Bill and his staff will sign someone else to try to replace Hernandez.  Doc doesn't want to remain with the Celtics so it is ok.  The Red Sox pitching staff has to improve or they won't be in 1st place much longer.

They're still in first place after a challenging part of the schedule.  They did this without their ace, mind you.

Aaron Hernandez facing arrest in connection with murder.

I've not been following this story, but it sounds tragic regardless of what team you root for.  Belichick's Patriots have always been a resilient group and have recovered from adversity before.

Bruins sqaunder lead in Stanley Cup Finals, facing elimination.

It ain't over til it's over.

They were going to lose him anyway.  They've got a bit of a hill to climb before they can hang again with Miami and other elite teams.  When they acquired the Big 3, you figured the party would end some time.  I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.  It was a great run.  They won one Championship and were a Kendrick Perkins injury away from another.  They also gave the Heat a great run for the money last season were they were seemingly overmatched.

Things are hardly terrible in Bean Town.  Fans are just spoiled.

Perhaps the series result was expected when the Red Sox faced arguably a better team on the road. A series split would have been an accomplishment for the Red Sox.

As reported on Boston sports, it's a done deal with the the LA clippers, Doc for a 1st round draft pick, in 2015

It was a bad weekend. Losing Doc Rivers is the least of it. He can easily be replaced. The Sox are looking vulnerable. The Bruins are on the verge of elimination. The Patriots should be embarrassed. The Celtics are overdue for an overhaul.  Not a good weekend , but we have become spoiled by many good ones in recent years. Have to take the good with the bad.

I agree with you crix, it has been a rough week.

    But on the bright side,

The Red Sox are still in first place, the Patriots are a favorite to go to the Super Bowl, the Bruins are in the Stanley Cup finals and the Celtics get a first-round pick for Doc.   Laughing
