Now here's an upcoming perfecta: Aceves and Dempster.

How many total runs do we need to win both games? 20? 30?

I would be very happy indeed if we could manage two wins in this home-and-away series ...

If Aceves can give us 5IP and surrender 3ER or less, Ill be OK. Hopefully Demp can make some adjustments and get back on track again. Hes a smart vet and should figure it out, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Re: Now here's an upcoming perfecta: Aceves and Dempster.

Must admit, Aceves surprised me from the first pitch. Seemed serious and almost willing to throw a few pitches that Salty called. I was happy for him; he's had a lot of problems, obviously; some of his own making, some thanks to us very impatient fans.

I hope Dempster does as well, but he really looks washed up. Hell, I probably said that when we bought Lefty Grove so who knows?

Dempster started out the season well but has lost his control since. his mechanics need a tuneup.

No. He is pitching exactly as he has his entire career.... stretches of solid ball and longer stretches of azz-kicked.

    Simply not true.

So? Now he is going to have an era over 5 for 9 starts. What is your point?

    Again not true.

Well if you're right, because the Sox needed only 4 runs to win Monday, I guess they'll need 16-plus to win tonight.

Dempster has been horrible of late but so have the Phils.  We can definately take at least three of four from them if our offense stays hot.

How is this working out for you so far?

I already commented on Aceves performance; maybe you should have looked for the answer to your question before commenting.

Solid start last night. Hoping Dempster can follow that lead and find his control again.

Dempster had an ERA of 2.93 in his first seven starts.

Dumpster has an ERA of 7.78 in his last four starts and 4.69 overall. No need to discard ANY of his data. He stinks and will end up the year with an ERA of close to 5-if we are lucky.
