    Older athletes don't "recover", which is why you don't see a bunch of guys in their 40's and 50's playing MLB. Older athletes may "recover" enough to be able to carry on with their lives without being invalids. But that's not what this thread is talking aobut.

    I can see Ortiz playing 120 games at about 75% if his former pre-2012 season long production level. But it's more likely to get ugly. I'd take 100 games of Ortiz and 20 homers right now and thank the stars. We'll see, but time isn't going to return Ortiz to what he was in 2011, and it's certainly not going to make him close to that, either.

     

    37 going on 42 is a tough age to be hurt & trying to play Baseball !!!

    this thread deserves to be mocked.....

    not only was it horribly inaccurate but it was based on Papi running around the basepath once after 8 months of injury...

     

    based on that I should be ready to compete and win the boston marathon in a month or so
