The Red Sox‬ have signed No. 24 pick Deven Marrero to a contract with a $2.05 million bonus, according to Baseball America's Jim Callis.

Marrero was projected in the Top-10 of most mock drafts and entered 2012 the season as a Top-5 talent. He was pushed down the board due to a rough season at Arizona State and shuffling of ideologies of the clubs above Boston. Assuming Marrero's work ethic is sound and he stays healthy, the slick-fielding shortstop could reach Fenway by 2015.
