Beckett was pulling a Clemens on us. His money is now in the pot. Crawford's money is in the pot. Agone's money in the pot. That's a lot of bananas........ must be 50 mil or more in annual contract freed up. The deal took the handcuffs off young Ben to get some 'ballplayers"

Youk's money will off the books, also. Was Theo team, although BC admitted today he was the biggest advocate for signing Crawford. Said Dodgers contacted him in April about Gonzalez. They were also in need of a pitcher. When they lost out on Dempster, they reconnected about also acquiring Beckett. Said it had been in the works for "a while" Ownership is committed to putting the money back into the team.

somewhat, pumpsie. The shock and sting, wore off a little. listened to BC press conference. Sounds like he's got a good sense of what needs to be done. hopefully LL will let him do it.

And we've scored 9 runs without Adrian. Maybe Big Papi really is the man.

They are still in bad need of a true ace pitcher. Within the time period that Felix Hernandez becomes available we will begin to improve and become a team that plays ball in October. I think thats in about two years. I just hope Cherries doesn't go out and make the same mistakes Epstein made and commit to long term contracts via overpaying guys like Crawford, Beckett, and Lackey. Now we will see what Cherington is made of.

About $70 million worth to replace a bat and a pitcher. That's about all we lost.

It was about getting rid of the players that didn't fit and acquiring ones that do. Otherwise, they'll go down the same road. Need to be more selective and far sighted. BC strength was draft and development. We'll see. Cafardo said Ellsbury has expressed interest in staying in Boston, so it may have also been about freeing up the money to keep him.

Depends what kind of a year he has next season, but 16 sounds about right. Thats about what Crawford was worth. May come down to the years.

BC suspended Aceves for 3 games for conduct detrimental to the team. New Sherrif in town.
