Imagine how good the Rangers staff would be with Tek catching 30% of their starts.

    Josh Beckett - $17M
    John Lackey - $16M
    Dice K - $10.3M
    John Lester - $5.8M
    Clay Bucholtz - $0.55M

The Sox have already committed $50 million to the starting rotation, nearly 1/3 of the overall team salary.  Can you blame them for not wanting to throw more money at the position?

If I lived near Fort Myers, I would take the time to walk picket Red Sox spring training with the following sign:

Sober up, you million dollar Pitchers of Beer!!!!!!!!!

But how could you find the time?  You barely have enough free time from your high-powered lawyer job to post nonsense here all day, every day.

Per instruction from Lucchino, young Cherington is indeed after low cost pitching.    Lots of names to remember and players addressing each other with "hey you !"

Even if just one does well. Its win -win. Look at Yanks last year, would they have won AL East w/ out the years they got from Colon/Garcia. Also bought them some time while waiting for yougsters Nova/Noesi/B&B boys to develope. Hopefully one of these guys does same for RS.

Dont forget that Lackey's average yearly salary took a big hit with the Tommy John surgery. Now he is making $13.8 mil a year down from the original $16.5.

As opposed to what the Red Sox did with Wakefield, Aceves, Miller, Weiland, Bedard?

Surely the Rangers will want magic fingers, for 1 or 2 million to post that amazing winning percentage from the backup catcher greatness performance levels.
