Cards will come out to play a more error-free game today.

Sox have never trailed the Cardinals for 5 straight WS games going back to 04.

If Sox can keep hitting like they did yesterday, thoughts of sweep can be entertained.

Good we have a bulldog like Lackey going against a good, but inexperienced Wacha.

Apparently Sox are 7-0 this postseason with Gomes starting, may be this is the intangible Farrell talks about.  Must drive Nava crazy.

Curious to see how Wacha does against the Sox lineup. Hopefully they get to him early & often.

Wacha has potential..........very good pitcher...........if Sox can get to him early he may lose his confidence. Be patient with him though...make him throw alot of pitches

Go Sox! Another early lead would be great. I don't have many fingernails left to survive a 7 game series.

Yeah, but they are not 7-0 because Gomes is playing. He has had some key hits, for sure, but Nava is the more productive player and has been all year. To his credit none of us have heard a peep out of him since he was benched. I don't like it. Its not that I don't like Gomes, but Nava was 8th in the AL this year in batting-and he is riding the pine??? He deserves to be out there...he SHOULD be out there.

Good strategy Ice, but this is not the Tigers. The Cards have a very good bullpen. We can knock out the SP and the reinforcements are even better. Still, knocking out their SP means we are scoring a bunch of runs, and thats a good thing.

Sox bullpen gave up 3 runs in the ALDS and ALCS and just 1 in the ALCS.  The Cardinals bullpen gave up 7 inthe ALDS and ALCS and 3 in the ALCS.  Sox have the better bullpen.

The Sox are almost certain to start out by taking pitches and working the count, but they also want to get on base.

Last night the Cardinals, knowing the Sox have the best bullpen in MLB, swung at almost everything early on.  Then they decided to make Lester throw more pitches, and it helped them.  One inning they had the bases loaded with 1 out (but didn't score) and another they had men on 2d and 3d with 2 men out and again didn't score.  But it worked better than just swinging away.

FWIW, I too would prefer Nava in LF tonight, but it's awfully hard to fault Farrell's decisions.
