Fair wind blowing through my country but it will take a bit of time to get the stink of greed and moral rot out. Obama can't do it alone but with a democratic congress and a veto proof senate [that might take a couple of more years but even the Republican reprobates left there can see the hand-writng on the wall] we'll be able to be proud of our country again and bring our kids home from foreign wars fought for lies and lucre. If I had my way I'd impeach the little coward and try his cohorts for treason and murder. The sacrifice in vain, yes in vain of 5000 poor kids to greed, flawed foreign policy, and the hubris of a coward should not go unnoted or ignored. I say get the bastards now and make them pay for their corruption. Isn't that what the religious frauds warn us we're facing after death if we don't support them phonys and crackpots.
Tomorrow your going to hear about cries of unity and cooperation from the losers and their paid media shills, well I say F--k Them and get them where they live, in their pocketbooks, and if they don't like it - Please Leave.
This site is about baseball, but since a few pea-brains are hopelessly lost, I might as well present a mild analogy. 2002-2003 prior to going into Iraq, 79% of Americans supported MY President. The support held thru the early stages of the war. The going got tough. The approval reversed; today its 79% disapprove. QUITTERS.

Baseball: Manny Rameriz. QUITTER Give me your loyal and trustworthy. I've little patience for you fairweather frontrunners. Get off the Red Sox thread. Go to where lily livered libs hang out.

P.S. I voted for McCain BUT will SUPPORT the next President (most likely Obama).

I have a problem with that one, although you could surely find a problem with almost any candidate. I think he is bright, personable, talented, and Bush was none of the above.

But the one thing that both have in common is that they were both manufactured by the marketing arm of their respective parties. Bush, for all practical purposes, never served in position of responsibility not provided by family wealth. If not for his name and money, he has no shot at being governor, and that was his launching pad. He was given a list of talking points to reiterate to the RW party.

Obama, while certainly smarter, has also had very little by way of a position of responsibility. Between the House and the Senate, there are 534 other elected officials, and all 534 have more experience. So why Obama? Biden is just as bright and at least 20 years more experienced. As is Schumer and many others.

I just get the same feeling as with Bush, that he is being force fed to us. I don't necessarily disqualify him for the lack of experience, since I think there is a benefit from not being part of the DC political machine, but he hasn't even gained experience being governor, mayor, or anything else.

Still, McCain is 92 years old, and Palin hasn't done much to inspire, and punishing the republicans certainly is a valid rationale, even though everyone in Congress should be tossed out.

Interesting that those objected to republicans voting for republicans never bothered to answer whether or not they ever crossed party lines.

Perhaps he did. The point was that Republicans are quick to accuse Democrats of socialism but they practice socialism for the wealthy themselves. The free market is all fine and good--until it turns out that it does not actually guarantee profits and then, of course, it has to be abandoned.

Joe B you seem like a level headed guy. You fight the good fight, by using facts and stats to make your case. Politics is different than Sports. Sports is a diversion. I am not happy with the choices presented to us for President. But I am really surprised how many people look to Obama as some kind of Messiah. I read everything I can, watch every debate, and I still can't find one reason why I should have voted for him over McCain. And I looked very hard.

People talk about change........well how much change have we witnessed in this State? Business as usual. I would like to see a 2 party system in Mass.

At this point I do not think all Republican's are idiots. I think that McCain's ideas make sense to him, I disagree with them and agree somewhat with Obama but not totally. Obama seems the better of the two and is not connected with Palin which really seems McCains biggest flaw, and his age. I think we need a bit of socialism in this country. It has been shown that pure capitalism does not work and neither does pure socialism se we should attempt to strike a balance. As far as Iraq goes it makes me sick when either of them talk of winning the war, it is already lost. If we stay we are screwed and if we leave we and they are screwed. In the end the Middle East will erupt in a bloodbath.

But what I think is that the US governmental system needs some reconstrution. It is obviously not working so something needs to be done about it.

Barack Obama is moderately liberal--like the Democratic Party in general. Do you think it improves political discourse in this country to make totally untrue and hyperbolic claims about those you disagree with?

There are plenty of sites that tracks this. McCain votes right about 85% of the time, and Obama votes party line in the mid-90s. Obama is more liberal than McCain is conservative, if that helps.

Absolutely. Kind of like the right believes in free trade, but maybe not so much irt agriculture, although this doesn't change too much from R to L or from country to country.

Are you voting your Senator or Rep out of office? I just find that most of the country, R and L, think change is needed, but that 'their' guy is not part of the problem.
