'Ducks on the Charles,' Dedham, June 16

Math problem of the day: Kids plus rubber ducks equals...what? Fun, of course! Add a race into the mix, and you’ve got the makings of an afternoon of awesome. On Saturday, get your ducks in a row and head over to Riverdale Park in Dedham for the 10th annual "Ducks on the Charles." Race time isn’t until 3 p.m., but before then you can indulge in a free barbeque and try your luck in raffles and giveaways – the kids can get their faces painted, hop on a pony ride, bounce in a moonwalk, participate in a football clinic, and more. If you’re interested in the race, you can “adopt” a duck for $5, or gather your own paddling of five ducks for $20. Each duck will be assigned a unique number, and the winning duck will quack all the way to the bank with a cool $1,000. Sponsored by the Neponset Valley Rotary Club.
