An ancient tradition of Kabbalat Shabbat (welcoming the Sabbath) by going into the fields to welcome the Sabbath is recreated this Friday evening. Shabbat Under the Stars welcomes all members of the community, and is especially geared for families with children ages 2 and older. Bring a picnic dinner –- challah, grape juice and dessert will be provided -- and prepare your voice for a sing-a-long, in celebration of the Sabbath. Presented in collaboration with Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Boston with support from Combined Jewish Philanthropies. All JCC arts and humanities offerings are programs of the Ryna Greenbaum JCC Center for the Arts. Friday, June 22, 6 – 7:30 p.m. Free. At the Whittemore-Robbins House Lawn, located behind Robbins Library, 700 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington. www.bostonjcc.org
