Family Fun Day at Brockton Rox, Brockton, July 22

Itching to go to a baseball game but don't want to fight the crowds at Fenway (or tackle the ticket prices)? Take the family out to the ball game in Brockton this weekend for a taste of big-league play by the Brockton Rox in an accessible and budget-friendly environment. Sunday at Campanelli Stadium is Family Fun Day, and gates open at 4 p.m., giving kids a chance to play in the Fun Zone and cuddle with adorable animals provided by Barn Babies. Get there early and register your little player for one of the many between-innings promotional activities. After the game, kids are allowed to run the bases and get up close and personal with the rising baseball stars during a full-team autograph session. It's an affordable outing the whole family will enjoy. Sunday, July 22. Gates open 4 p.m., game starts at 5 p.m. $5, $8, $12 seating.
