arabianadventuretanglewood.jpgIn this production by the Tanglewood Marionettes at the Puppet Showplace Theatre, a Persian prince is thrown into the dungeon as punishment for his love for the princess. The courageous young man must battle his way out of the underground prison, facing danger at every turn, in order to save the princess from a tragic fate. Featuring over a dozen beautifully hand-crafted marionettes and exquisite “story-book” style scenery, the performance is set to a background of classical music from favorite composers, as well as traditional Middle Eastern music. In addition, the program is presented with the marionettists in full view, so that the audience can witness firsthand the mechanics of puppet manipulation. This is an action-packed show that will thrill audience members as they cheer for the hero. Wed. Aug 1 through Sat. Aug. 4. Show times vary. For ages 5 and up. $10 general, $8 members. The Puppet Showplace Theatre, 32 Station Street, Brookline. www.puppetshowplace.org
