Feeling sluggish during these dog days of summer? A great pick-me-up is a huge outdoor festival! Join thousands in Chinatown on Sunday for the August Moon Festival, one of the most celebrated Chinese holidays. Held on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, the festival celebrates the end of the harvest season. This local version happens on Beach and Harrison Streets in Boston's Chinatown. You'll find dancing, musicians, martial artists, and various other performers, as well as music, food, activities, storytellers and a dragon parade to celebrate the full moon. Save room for traditional mooncakes, delicious round pastries filled with lotus seed paste, which are sent to friends and relatives as a way of giving thanks. Sun., Aug. 12, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Free.
