Enjoy a visit to the Buttonwood Park Zoo in a completely different way -- at night! Families can bring a blanket to spread on the ground, and bask in the warmth of a blazing campfire, perfect for a chilly fall evening. You'll hear a story, participate in an activity, and share a snack, all with the backdrop of the zoo and its inhabitants. Pre-registration and advance payment is required, and can be done by calling (508) 991-4556, ext. 18. In the event of inclement weather, registrants will be notified by phone of cancellation by 5 p.m. Fri., Sept. 28, 6:30 p.m. All ages. $35 per non-member family; $25 per member family. Buttonwood Park Zoo, 425 Hawthorn Street, New Bedford. www.bpzoo.org
