Join kids across the country for a fun and inspiring math competition! The 2nd annual National TriMathlon, sponsored by Mathnasium, will be held around the United States, and, locally, in Newton and Cohasset. Students in grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will compete for prizes. All students will compete in three fun, creative math catagories, against other students in the same grade. The first place winners at the community level will then go on to compete at the national level and a chance to win prizes and money awards. This event is for all students, not just top math students. It is a time to give encouragement and praise to students for focusing on bettering their math skills. There will be a hospitality area for family and friends to celebrate as well, and all entrants will receive certificates and goodie bags, no matter how they score. Sat., Sept. 29, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. Free. Register online before the event to receive practice materials. www.mathnasiumtriathlon.com
