2013 is the Year of the Snake on the Chinese calendar. It's said that the snake is the wisest and most enigmatic of all Chinese zodiac signs and that people born in the year of the snake love the good things in life -- which must include some cool crafts, of course! Celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Snake all week long at ArtBeat in Arlington with special walk-in projects at the studio. You can paint a slithery wooden snake that will slink across the floor with the lightest of tugs.This cobra-style snake will be played with long after it has been painted by you or your child. Project is $12 and includes all materials needed. Or, you can try your hand at some sand art. Sand painting is great fun and its one of ArtBeat's most popular studio projects. Over the weekend do two sand paintings for the price of one when you choose two of the snake or Chinese character designs. Project is $10 and includes all materials needed.
