Proposed reality TV show 'All My Babies' Mamas' draws outrage
UPDATE: Oxygen halts controversial 'Babies' Mamas' project
A proposed new reality TV show on Oxygen called "All My Babies' Mamas," which would air in the spring, features the life of Atlanta rap artist Shawty Lo, who has fathered 11 children with ten different mothers.
The Parents Television Council has asked the network not to air the program, calling it "grotesquely irresponsible and exploitive," reports the Associated Press.
New York writer Sabrina Lamb has written a letter to Oxygen Media CEO Jason Klarman and begun an online petition against the show, writing that the show "stereotypes and demeans black children, mothers and dads!"
As of this writing, more than 26,000 people support the petition.
