Shake off the winter blues during the 16th Annual WinterFest in North Adams. During the festival, downtown North Adams will turn into a winter wonderland full of activity and excitement. Highlights include a chowder competition, horse drawn wagon rides, ice-sculpting, and other winter-themed activities. WinterFest activities take place all day, with the majority of the events held in the downtown area happening between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. From 12-2 p.m., the public is invited to sample the cream of the chowder crop, and vote for their favorite. The contest features restaurants and caterers from across Berkshire County. The day ends with a party at the North Adams Skating Rink. Sat., Feb. 23, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Main Street, North Adams. www.northadams-ma.gov
