It's time for another season of a beloved Boston tradition -- watching a movie under the starry skies with the Charles bubbling by not far away. Sponsored by WBZ NewsRadio 1030 and the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR), "Free Friday Flicks" kicks off this week at the Hatch Shell with a showing of the family-friendly feature, "Hotel Transylvania." Pack up some beach chairs and a blanket, and bring along a picnic -- but arrive early to get a good spot. Children can burn off some pre-movie energy by playing on the nearby climbing playscape on the banks of the Charles River. You can also enjoy some games, giveaways and food samples provided by the event's long-time host, WBZ NewsRadio. The show starts at dusk (around 8:30), so perhaps putting the kids in pajamas is a good idea too. Friday, June 21. Pre-movie activities start at 6:30. All ages. Free. The Hatch Shell, Storrow Drive, The Esplanade, Boston. Find out about the next free movie. boston.cbslocal.com/flicks
