Check out the never-before-seen color film released this week of President John F. Kennedy vacationing on Cape Cod in late July of 1963, exactly 50 years ago. You can see JFK playing golf and relaxing with his family, including his daughter Caroline. The 15 minutes of silent footage was released by the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.
Here is the oldest photo we've received so far, from 1889, according to Samir Latif of Weymouth, who shared it with us.
Here's what Latif had to say about the image:
My great grandfather, Rev. Eliot White (2nd from left) and his father, John S. White (3rd from right) of Worcester, MA - on the summit of Mont-Blanc, August 1, 1889. From a family album taken during a trip to Europe that summer.
And here are some 20th century photos of kids shared by Boston-area families.
From left: Carol McCusker of Norwood shared this 1924 photo of her mom Angela Rose Prati, taken in Boston; Jacqueline Phillips of Needham shared this photo from the 1930s of her mom Elaine Bell and grandfather Hosea Bell taken in N.Y.; and Bonney in Yarmouth Port shared this 1957 photo of herself with her mother at the Public Garden.
