Babysitting is a lucrative job these days.

Teenagers in the Boston area are charging about $10 an hour, a wage that has risen about nine times faster than inflation since the early 1980s, according to the Labor Department, reports The Boston Globe. And more experienced sitters -- ones with college degrees -- are asking $17 an hour or more.

Tell us: Babysitting can be a tough job. And sometimes things go wrong. Do you have a babysitting horror story to share? Whether you were the babysitter or the one who hired the sitter, share your story here.

And, finally, find out about places around Boston that will let you drop off your kids (and entertain them to boot!) while you run errands or have a date night. We also tell you about some local babysitting services and how much they charge.
